CIRA, Vincent —

After a wonderful 96 years of living and with the special devotion of his personal caregiver Jane, Vincent “Pops” passed away, peacefully on June 29, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Vincent was one of the owners of Cira Bros. at Yonge and St. Clair, along with his brothers, Sal, Peter, Joe and Charlie. He was a WWII Veteran stationed in British Columbia. People will remember him for his kindness and generosity, love of people, warm charisma, playing cards whether it was cribbage or poker and that “twinkle in his eye”.

Dear son of the late Giuseppe and Antonina Cira; beloved husband for 67 years to Eleanor (nee Bernard); loved and loving father of Lynn Cira (I.B.V.M.), JoAnne Peach (the late Donald) and Vince (Helen) and fondly remembered by his grandchildren Gregory and Mark.

Vince is survived by his sisters Dorothy Polito (the late Joseph) and Margaret Calderone (the late Frank) and sister-in-law Yolanda Cira (the late Charles).

Predeceased by his brothers Sal (Irene), Peter (Gertrude), Joe (Helen) and sisters Mary (Jack Sgarlata) and Agatha (John Altilia); dear brother-in-law of the late Mildred (Ted Kennedy), Sal (Lois Bernard) and Rosemary (Sam Rich). Uncle Vince will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and their families.

A special thanks is extended to his personal caregiver Jane, whose love and attention kept him going, along with Hazel, Fritzie and Aurelia and the staff at the Houses of Providence.

Friends may call at the TRULL “NORTH TORONTO” FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 2704 Yonge St. (5 blocks south of Lawrence Ave.) on Wednesday, July 6th from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 7th at ST.
