Wilfred Kingson – October 9, 1927 – June 25, 2016

When someone is always smiling, we gravitate towards them
When someone is always giving, we are thankful for them
When someone is always cheerful in the face of adversity, we shake our heads in wonder
When this someone leaves this world, we are left feeling the devastating loss.

Just as he wished his entire family was at his side as Wilfred Kingson exited this world. After a long and joyful life he went peacefully at Sunnybrook Palliative Care, on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 3:48 p.m. He leaves behind his devoted wife Philomena, his son Gary (the late Loraine) Kingson, his daughter Sharon (Doug) Penny and his son Mark (Maria) Kingson. His grandchildren Adam (Adina Melanson) Kingson, Rachelle (Troy) Trichilo, Sarah (Nathan) Nadeau, Michael, Stephanie and great grandchildren Rebecca and Samuel and his great-great grandson Landen.
His siblings the late Charlie (late Gladys) Kingson, the late Sidney (Olive) Kingson, the late Fredrick (late Irene) Kingson, and George (Betty) Kingson, his many nieces and nephews and dear friends will miss him dearly.
Fondly referred to as the “King” by his grandchildren Willie was larger than life. He had a “get up and go” manner and truly celebrated and lived life to the fullest. He loved to travel, dance, cook, and help others. No matter what life flung at him, he overcame it with a focus on making a life for his family who meant everything to him. Willie was a simple man but a caring man. He welcomed everyone into his home and shared his hospitality. He laughed constantly and that kept him young at heart.
We have lost a great icon!
“Did you ever know that you’re my hero, and everything I’d like to be? I can fly higher than an eagle, ’cause you were the wind beneath my wings”.
Rest in peace dear man and enjoy the welcome into heaven. Peace be with you.
